Our exhibition on the culture of the Akha and their problems facing globalization, finally will come to the Gracia district of Barcelona, at the Jaume Fuster Library in the Plaza Lesseps.

It will remain there from September 2 to October 16, 2011.

We remind you that the exhibition consists of 25 photographs with explanatory texts, divided into 5 areas:

- Material Culture
- Lifestyles
- Belief system
- The problems of the Akha
- Challenges of minorities facing globalization

You can also view a 10 minute documentary with an interview with Mr. Athu, director of a local Akha association which explains, among other things, abuse of some Christian charities in Thailand. And finally you can see a series of everyday objects from the Akha, cups and balls made of bamboo, handmade cotton bags or an Akha woman's hat.

We believe that cultural diversity is an index of the overall health of mankind and we try to explain it and share it, understand the risks of its decline to the large strengths of globalization and finally, support ethnic minorities in their efforts to preserve it the way they choose.

The Akha are waiting for you!
