At the end of January 2012 and for two months, we plan to make another visit to Southeast Asia. The objectives of this trip are: Cooperation Projects
Ø Visit the coffee project Akha Ama traveling to the village of Mae Jantai and document it on video and photography
Ø Explore the possibility of continuing the project of schooling for children with our akha counterpart AFECT
Ø Buy handicrafts within the program of Akha women's empowerment Joint tourism project
Ø Documenting a possible extension of solidarity with tourist guides association of ethnic minorities in Chiang Rai
Ø Documenting a possible extension of solidarity tourism in the town of Mae Jantai to learn more about the coffee project Akha Ama International Volunteer
Ø Evaluate together with the three partners, international volunteer programs: P1: Isan public schools P2: association of local guides in Mae Yao P3: AFECT’s eco-school
Ø Visit schools with permanent accommodation for children in the Thai-Burma border to explore the possibility of creating a new international volunteer program
Ø Visit the clinic of the Thai health public system of Doi Tung to explore the possibility of creating a new international volunteer program for nursing and medical students who want to practice there and know about health policy towards ethnic minorities University Cooperation
Ø Visit the responsible Regional Center for Social and Sustainable Development and the Center for Ethnic Studies and Development, University of Chiang Mai, to explore the possibility of a seminar in conjunction with a Catalan university Cultural documentation
Ø To deepen the knowledge of the Akha culture and other ethnic minorities in the area and document them on video We hope to achieve all the goals we have set for 2012 and thank partners, donors, supporters and volunteers for the help and encouragement we have received.
